National Film Awards: Akshay Kumar receives 'Best Actor' award for 'Rustom' from the President

The moment has finally arrived as Akshay Kumar just received the National Award for his performance in the film Rustom that released last year. The actor was honoured by President Pranab Mukherjee himself, while senior BJP leader LK Advani congratulated him on his achievement.


Wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav looked on with pride and applauded in delight as Akshay received his award. Before leaving for the ceremony, Akshay had posted a picture of himself with Twinkle and Aarav as they dressed up for the do writing that it's an important day of his life, with the important people of his life.

World Health Assembly elects Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as new WHO Director-General

Former Ethiopian Health Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has been elected as the new Director-General of the World Health Organisation. This election has earned the distinction of being the first election which saw the participation of all WHO member states in the voting process. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus defeated the other two contendors to the post, namely, UK’s Dr David Nabarro and Pakistan’s Dr Sania Nishtar. The head of the organization is the Director-General (DG), appointed by the World Health Assembly. Earlier stincts of Dr Tedros includes the post of Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs Minister (2012-2016) and Health Minister (2005-2012). He has also served as chair of the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. ISRO GSLV F-09 satellite launch Live Updates: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the much-anticipated the South Asia Communication Satellite on Friday afternoon – PM  Narendra Modi  has famously projected it as India’s ‘gift’ to South Asian countries. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV F-09 carrying the communication and broadcasting satellite will take off from the second launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikotta at 4.57 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ said the satellite is India’s gift to the region that will go a long way in addressing the economic and development priorities of the nations in the region.
